Volunteers for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, Inc.
Volunteers for Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention, Inc. (VAPP) is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 by Dr. Cecil Gordon. VAPP focuses on at-need youth (male and female) and their families with services that:
- Educate youth in reproductive health practices and encourage them to postpone parenting until adulthood
- Provide medical care
- Provide “healthy choices” counseling services
- Provide parents with an opportunity to discuss/talk about their parenting challenges
- Continue to fight against teenage pregnancy, infant mortality, HIV/STDs, obesity, high school dropout rates and encounters with the correctional system
